I. OBJECTIVE

The Federation for the Development of the Book Sector in Cambodia aims to gather as members Governmental Organizations, Non-governmental Organizations, Associations, Businesses, and Individuals who wish to develop books and reading in Cambodia. The Federation is a non-profit organization which has political or religious affiliations. The Federation was registered with the Ministry of Interior on the 18^th of October, 2004.

 II. MISSIONS

The Federation for the Development of the Book Sector in Cambodia aims to :

• Study and understand the principal problems which affect the book sector in Cambodia,

• Work to alleviate these problems,

• For the 2004-2005 year, the Federation has decided to work on four problems/issues :

1. Effective nation-wide book distribution

2. Promotion of reading and books

3. Training of Cambodian writers

4. Reducing the material costs of producing books in Cambodia.

Federation Members can include :

- Ministries

- Non-governmental organizations

- Book sellers

- Authors

- Publishers

- Distributors

- Librarians

- Readers

- Book lovers

Being a member of the Federation for the Development of the Book Sector in Cambodia

means you share in helping to develop a love of books and reading in Cambodia. You will have the opportunity to :

1. Use your skills and capacity to help the development of the book sector in Cambodia.

2. Have the opportunity to participate in Federation programs.

3. Have the opportunity to meet and discuss issues of common interest with Librarians, Authors, Researchers, Publishers and Distributors....

4.Have the opportunity to enhance and develop your skills through the Federation's skill training program.

5. Have the opportunity to understand laws and standards which are relevant to books.
