[This is pretty much a blatant re-post but good news deserves spreading.]

Kalabird will be running a marathon in early October, and is dedicating her efforts to the nonprofit Friends.

Running a 26 miles is no easy task; I’d be a little intimidated given the historical precedent it’s named after.

In addition to running, running, and running some more, equally impressive is her simple, high tech way of raising funds via her blog.

Want to help out? Then click to ChipIn !

Hmm, maybe we can spread the word at BarCampPhnomPenh, which precedes the race.

Oh My Jesus

Tuesday’s Cambodia Daily (p. 29)* notes outrage in Battambang: someone opened a bar/hotel with ‘Buddha’ as part of the name. (Click for larger version.)

Buddha Bar (khmer)
In Paris, no one would bat an eye: ‘Buddha Bar’ has existed for some time.

This comic was originally drawn in 2003; it’s one of several older cartoons I’m getting colored for a publication – maybe an exhibition.
