FarmBlogging

During the Clogger Summit, Beth Kanter brought over some durable video cameras that shoot directly to MP4 format. Perfect for beginning videobloggers.

One of the concerns that came up at the summit was getting more rural voices in the world of blogs. Especially in primarily agrarian Cambodia.

Agricultural researcher Mandevu’s Ph.D field work is to observe, um, work in the fields.

He takes us to Planet Countryside, where a farmer is attempting to salvage a flooded rice crop. A great first start. Click for video and commentary.

Lines and Lost Lines

Lines and Lost Lines
LINES AND LOST LINES, a collaborative mixed media installation featuring
artists from a diverse background will be on show in The Arts Lounge from
October 8 until November 14.

Four artists, Panca Evenblij, Kong Vollak, Ali Sanderson and Tanja Wessels,
each with vastly different backgrounds, with their own stories and memories,
will work together merging diverse ideas, concepts and mediums to create a
dynamic exhibition.

The artists will profile innovative approaches in contemporary art using
various media and techniques, together creating an exciting art environment
for visitors to view and interact.

The exhibition comprises a mix of new work with artists responding to each
other and their environment to create paintings, drawings, video and
installation.

Throughout the exhibition artists will work “in residence” challenging each
other, working together, and making space to create their own work. They
will find new references to interpret the relation between their works and
the experiences of living and working in Cambodia.

The majority of the work will be produced on location, in their temporary
studio, with inspiration gleaned in direct response to the location itself.
The work will be displayed and installed throughout the given time, making
for an inspiring yet fluid exhibition.
