For more on where these fish come from, and how they get to the dinner table, take a look at Phil‘s excellent writeup on the Chbar Ampouv fish markets.

Blogs for Burma

Free Burma!

… rhymes much better than ‘Blogs for Myanmar’.

Today is the international day of support for Burmese bloggers, and in keeping with this, I’d like to note that the Cambodian Government has asked the Burmese government to exercise restraint. (Courtesy Radio Free Asia: http://tinyurl.com/2demqk)
I’d be quite happy if Myanmar’s internet connection was switched back on. What is there to hide?

Javier Clogs

Javier 'Clogs'

A live demonstration of the other kind of ‘Clogging’ – Appalachian style – at the 2007 Clogger Summit, by Javier Sola of Khmer Open Source. (You just had to be there.)

Click on the picture for video by Preetam Rai, and cheers to Lux Mean for webbing it up. Extended version: Beth Kanter.

(I’m told Unix programmers and clog dancers seemed to have a lot of overlap in the early days of the internet. Anyone care to elaborate?)

Postscript: More press coverage from the Post.
