Local tastes include two types: seasoned hard-boiled eggs as seen in the vendor cart above, and (a favorite) hard-boiled duck eggs with an embryo inside. Once at a guesthouse I heard a backpacker recount her experience, as if near tears: “I bought an egg and they told me it was cooked – but they didn’t tell me there was a little baby inside!”
To each their own. Some like pizza, some like prahok.
