Retracing Steps

Temples by air
It seems in life we are sometimes bound to often retrace our steps. In this case I don’t mind too much: I’d recently gone by dirtbike to Koh Ker, and subsequently Preah Vihear.
I did both in a day by helicopter, which was great fun. I’m used to thinking in terms of how difficult the road is, or which monument is close to another. Flying provides another topology entirely.

Some of the small ‘linga’ monuments in the vicinity of Koh Ker. This was a first for me, some are quite intact after years of complete neglect!

    Dear Jinja,

Hello! Hi this is Karen from Hong Kong. I just wonder where did you hire the helicopter to visit the Preah Vihear and how much does it cost??

    Looks like great!~!

This was some time ago, so I’d recommend you email them directly.
Chartered flights are not cheap, but this view was priceless.
